EARLY SEASON SNOW

21st September 2017

Amazing early-season snowfall at Jasper’s ski area, and it’s still snowing!

Marmot Basin ski resort in Canada’s Jasper National Park has always been renowned for it’s early starts and it’s long winters. However, this year the snow decided to come even earlier!

As the home of the Simply Snowsports ski and snowboard instructor courses, we always love to hear that it’s puking fresh snow at Marmot Basin for the past few days. A video taken at 1pm on Wednesday shows just how much snow has fallen, and it’s still snowing!

A spokesperson from Marmot Basin got in touch with us and said:
"there’s at least 26cm at the base area, probably a lot more at mid mountain and even more again up top! I’ve never seen this much snow this early in the year!"

The team up at Marmot Basin obviously get as excited about the fresh powder as we do in the Simply Snowsports office as they’ve already been out for a play in it.

Anyone attending our 11 Week Ski and Snowboard Instructor Course, Ski Instructor Internship Courses or Snowboard Instructor Internship Courses should be excited too, as this hopefully sets us up for an epic powder filled winter season.

If you can’t wait to grab your skis and snowboard after seeing all that fresh snow then why not join us this winter? There are a few places left. You can still reserve yourself a spot on the world’s best ski and snowboard instructor course and enjoy powder filled runs and world class coaching on your gap year or career break.
