Marmot Basin boasts skiing and boarding over a huge area rising to a massive 2612m at it's peak. With steeps, chutes and open powder bowls in the alpine, and great piste, mogul and tree runs lower down, there is amazingly diverse terrain to challenge the ability of all skiers and boarders.
A friendly and welcoming resort, Marmot's Basin's dedicated team strive to provide all guests with the experience of a lifetime. After living in Jasper and skiing/riding at Marmot Basin everyday for 11 weeks, you won't just be a guest, you'll feel like one of the team and make some great lifelong friends along the way.
In Canada, there is no such thing as 'on piste' or 'off piste'; instead, there is 'in bounds' or 'out of bounds'. Basically what this means is that anything within the boundary line is avalanche controlled and safe for skiing or snowboarding.
Essentially, you will get to ride more challenging terrain every day which will make you a much better skier or snowboarder, and, to top it off, the best newly qualified instructors in the industry. Check out the piste map to see what we mean.
With large amounts of snow and expert ski and snowboarding access, the staff at Marmot Basin work extra hard to keep you safe whilst you are riding. On big snow days you will often hear multiple explosions as the avalanche safety team works to open up more ski-able or ride-able terrain. It is an awe inspiring sight when they let off heavy-duty explosives; check out a video of these guys at work!
Like to hit the rails and jumps in the snow park? Marmot Basin boasts an awesome terrain park with features ranging from small to large for all your jibbing needs.
We know you love the park, and that's why all Simply Snowsports instructors are freestyle coaches too.
Check out this video of snowboarder and all round nice guy Adam Giles as he guides you through some of the features in the park.
